Silvopasture and Agroforestry

My Bareroot trees are coming alive!

In March a large order of trees was delivered. They were subsequently planted and mulched. There exists is an updated map is from a previous post of mine, but my software license has expired. I’ll have to figure out how to convert the file formats to the open source software that I want to use from here on out before I can retrieve the map!

Figures for what has leafed out so far:

8/9 mulberries

1/2 filberts

2/3 chestnuts

4/6 black walnuts

3/5 pawpaws

5/5 apples

The one I haven’t listed is a black walnut variety called a “Cannonball Walnut” for its 1 pound nuts that look like, well cannonballs. The nursery seems to have pruned it so that no buds remain. I may be wrong, but I’ll be surprised if this tree survives.

You may notice some weird patterns with the mulch/gravel on these trees. Don’t fear, I will explain everything in due time!
